  • July 2022 - Xero unveils Xero Go, a new app to help sole traders access entry-level accounting that will support the self-employed to get ready for one of the most significant changes to the UK tax system — Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self Assessment (MTD for ITSA) and Record expenses on the fly using the Quickscan feature, powered by machine learning and auto-suggests tax categories for them, saving time on manual expense record gathering and tax coding around submission dates and supports better accuracy.
  • August 2022 Intuit Accountants Launches Intuit Tax Advisor Integrating Tax Prep and Advisory, a new, convenient insights tool for tax professionals to deliver tax advisory services. Intuit Tax Advisor seamlessly integrates with Intuit Accountant software, Lacerte, and ProConnect Tax, to provide insights and strategies for the tax professional’s clients. ITA helps in all recommended tax strategies and estimated tax savings automatically populated in a personalized, client-friendly report for tax professionals to share with their clients, and can be customized with specific firm logos and colors.

  • January 2023: In collaboration with Principal Asset Management, Crane Data Centers developed a 100MW data center complex in Forest Grove (a few miles from Hillsboro). The first phase is expected to deliver 50MW over 35 acres.
  • May 2022: Intel was building a USD 700 million research center in Hillsboro. The facility likely studied new technologies to increase data center operating efficiency. To achieve this, the 200,000-square-foot research lab was expected to primarily focus on reducing data centers' heating, cooling, and water needs. The facility was scheduled to open in late 2023.
  • October 2022: Northern California, also known as Silicon Valley, ranked second for Data Center leasing activity in the first half of 2022. The region increased its capacity by 10% supply in H1 2022. However, it experienced record-low vacancy at 1.3%; silicon valley remains the tightest data center market in the U.S.
  • April 2023: RICloud entered the data center market in San Jose in 2021. Silicon Valley now has 17 similar facilities under construction in the region. This has increased the capacity of silicon valley by a whopping 688MW which is in the works.
  • January 2022: Prime Data Centers publicized its plans for the site on Comstock Street in Santa Clara, next to its current assets. The construction is anticipated to begin in the second half of 2023; the facility is expected to have a total of 9MW capacity at 74,000 sf.
  • June 2023: The Monaco Hotel in Dubai World Islands' Heart of Europe implemented property management software from Infor. The Monaco Hotel uses Infor HMS at numerous touchpoints to gather and use integrated and comprehensive data. The Infor hospitality management solution (HMS) and Infor SCS sales and event management solutions were introduced at the 198-room hotel to enhance the experience for visitors to the location.
  • June 2023: Worldline, a global payments provider, announced that its Hospitality Suite and Oracle Hospitality Cloud achieved Oracle Validated Integration. Worldline hopes to improve the passenger and hotelier experience with its new offerings. The decision enables Oracle OPERA Cloud PMS to include various cloud-based payment options by the global payment provider.

  • July 2022: L&T Construction's Buildings & Factories business bagged a contract from renowned data center service providers to construct data centers with a total capacity of 10.8 MW in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
  • February 2023 - A novel on-the-go (OTM) man-packable satellite communications (satcom) terminal has been created by Inmarsat and Hughes for use with the L-Band Tactical Satellite (L-TAC) service. The current L-TAC system offers global beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) voice and data communications in the L-band frequency range using existing tactical radios and Spectra SlingShot radio frequency (RF) converters. It is an alternative manpack solution to the ultra-high frequency tactical communications satellite (UHF TACSAT).
  • September 2022 - Europe's tallest communication satellite is launched by Ariane 5. The 8.9 m, three-story-high communications satellite, which weighs 6.525 tonnes and made up 99% of the 6.62-tonne launch mass, will provide high-speed broadband and in-flight connection throughout Europe for its operator, Eutelsat. The satellite has brand-new antenna deployment and pointing mechanisms for the antenna tracking system and other cutting-edge components, including structural panels and next-generation batteries, all created as part of the ESA Partnership Project.
  • June 2022: The London councils of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and London Borough of Sutton partner with Citrix Systems Inc. to leverage Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops via Citrix Cloud, enabling over 5,000 employees to serve over 400,000 constituents. This allowed the employees to access the client's resources, wherever required, to deliver the work remotely.
  • May 2022: Movebot (developed by Couchdrop Limited) and Dropbox Inc. entered a strategic partnership, allowing individual, team, and business users to migrate data from other clouds to Dropbox quickly and securely. The global agreement made Movebot Dropbox's preferred data migration solution provider.
  • June 2023: Inmarsat Maritime announced to launch fleet reach service to bring seamless connectivity to ships from sea to port. The new maritime connectivity service will enable uninterrupted access to high-speed connectivity, even when docked in ports, beating the coastal capacity crunch.   • April 2022: Spire Global introduced weather insights solutions for the maritime industry. The company collected global weather data through a fully-deployed constellation of over 100 satellites, approaching remote areas, including open oceans, that were difficult to observe. Spires provided weather insights and saved customers' development time and costs by combining weather data with maritime expertise through machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • April 2023 - Equinix purchased the Infomart building in Dallas, Texas, and announced plans to enlarge the property. This expansion will see $180 million injected into the 1990 N. Stemmons Freeway property. The company's extension will include a four-story office and a four-story data center, increasing its total square footage to more than 211,000 square feet (19,600 square meters).
  • April 2023: Dallas-based Bandera Ventures and Skybox Datacenters will build a multi-building data center complex near Lancaster, Texas. The Dallas Morning News was the first to report on the prospective campus, which is planned for a more than 100-acre site 12 miles south of downtown Dallas and immediately east of Interstate 35E that Bandera recently bought. This project will be the third time Skybox and Bandera have collaborated on a project. The two businesses previously collaborated to establish data center facilities in Houston and Plano.
  • September 2022 - Acuity Knowledge Partners, a provider of high-value research, business intelligence, and analytics solutions to the financial services sector, acquired Cians Analytics, a provider of high-quality, cost-effective analysis and analytical support for financial institutions. This acquisition will allow Acuity to offer enhanced support in the knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) field and help streamline financial firms' operations globally.
  • July 2022 - SAP SE has acquired search-driven analytics startup Ask Data. The company expectes the acquisition to help it make better-informed decisions by leveraging AI-driven natural language searches.
