  • In March 2022, Mercedes-Benz India launched a new S-Class sedan under its luxury brand, Maybach. The 2022 Mercedes Maybach S-Class is available in India at a starting price of INR 2.5 crore (ex-showroom). The new Maybach S-Class will be available both as locally manufactured units and completely built units (CBU).
  • In December 2021, Aston Martin's first-ever SUV was launched in India in January this year at INR 3.82 crore. The SUV comes with a Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that puts out 542 bhp with 700 Nm in combination with a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
  • In November 2021, Audi launched its new luxury SUV for India- the new Q5 at a starting price of Rs 58.9 lakh. The Q5 is an important SUV since the earlier model formed a large chunk of its SUV sales in India.
  • In October 2021, The fifth-generation Jaguar F-Pace with MHV version made its debut on the market. Jaguar offers the F-Pace in four trim levels: F-Pace 250, 250 S, S 340, and R-Dynamic S 400. The S 340 uses a 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbocharged mild hybrid with 335 hp. Finally, the R-Dynamic S uses the same engine and boosts power slightly to 395bhp.

  • May 2022: Tata Motors signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with leading e-commerce companies and logistics service providers Amazon, BigBasket, City Link, DOT, Flipkart, LetsTransport, MoEVing, and Yelo EV. Through this MoU, the company will deliver 39,000 ACE electric vehicles to all the logistics service providers.
  • May 2022: Tata Motors launched the Ace EV, the electric version of the popular Ace truck. The company has entered the upcoming segment of small electric trucks for freight delivery in the country. The new vehicle has powered by a 27kW (36hp) motor with 130Nm of peak torque and has a range of up to 158 KM on a single charge.
  • February 2022: BYD unveiled a new all-electric Type A school bus in the United States. The battery-powered bus is available in three different lengths 26.7 feet (8.1 meters), 24.5 feet (7.45 meters), and 22.9 feet (7 meters), making it suitable for routes with fewer students. In addition, the BYD Type A is fitted with Predictive Stop Arm, which monitors approaching traffic and notifies students as they exit the bus when it is safe to cross.
  • November, 2022: Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) announced the importation of several RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles (PHEV) to test customer response, vehicle behavior, infrastructure requirements, and other technical aspects, as well as educate customers on plug-in technology. It is also the second phase of TSAM's New Energy Vehicle (NEV) roll-out strategy, following the hybrid vehicle expansion strategy across Toyota's mainstream product lines.

  • November, 2022: The Volvo Group, Mack Trucks' parent company, and Pilot Company have agreed to establish public charging infrastructure for medium- and heavy-duty customers in North America. Pilot Company will install high-performance charging infrastructure at select Pilot and Flying J travel centers across the United States, while The Volvo Group will provide expertise in determining which locations should be prioritized for charging infrastructure based on current and anticipated BEV truck adoption, customer charging requirements, and funding availability from the federal and state governments.
  • September, 2022: At its plant in Sete Lagoas, Brazil, Iveco announced the commencement of the production of its Hi-Way heavy truck with a natural gas (CNG) powertrain. The truck is powered by a 460 horsepower FPT Cursor 13 engine with six cylinders. Meritor supplied the Hi-Way's rear axle, and the ZF Traxon gearbox has 12 speeds.

  • September, 2021: BYD unveiled two revolutionary battery-electric heavy-duty trucks, the third-generation 8TT, and 6F. The extended-range versions of the 8TT and 6F offer a range of up to 200 miles on a charge. The trucks come standard with Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), making driving easier and safer.

  • Nov 2022- According to BYD's official Weibo account, BYD's new luxury car brand is called "Yangwang." It will have a new and independent team for branding, products, sales and services network, and operation, with products expected to be officially launched in Q1 2023.
  • Aug 2022- Infiniti announced the official launch of the QX55, an all-new luxury SUV, in China at the 2022 Chengdu Motor Show. It will be sold as an imported model in the country. It is available in four variants (one FWD and three AWD), with prices ranging from CNY 389,800 (USD 55,987.36) to CNY 475,300 (USD 68,267.81).
  • Aug 2022- In Wuhan, Hubei Province, Dongfeng Motor Company Limited (Dongfeng Motor) held a press conference. Dongfeng Motor introduced Mengshi, a luxury off-road EV (electric vehicle) brand, and its exclusive "M" logo at the conference. The Mengshi brand's first model will hit the market in 2023.
