• January 2023: Catalent announced that it had signed a development and license agreement with EthicannPharmaceuticals Inc., a Canadian/American specialty pharmaceutical company specializing in creating high-value cannabinoid drug therapies using Zydisorally disintegrating tablet (ODT) technology to advance Ethicann'sclinical drug pipeline. Per the agreement, Catalent would use its Zydistechnology to create pharmaceutical products containing cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) for Ethicann'suse in clinical trials for various conditions.
• October 2022: Recipharm invested in a new high-speed filling line for pre-filled syringes and cartridges at its site in Wasserburg, Germany, to address the rising client demand for high-growth file formats, international contract development, and manufacturing organization (CDMO). This investment was expected to further strengthen Recipharm'sentire manufacturing offering for injectable pharmaceuticals that need sterile filling as part of a recent program of investments and expansions across the more significant business.

• June 2023 - Graham Packaging implemented a five-pronged strategy that includes reducing energy intensity, sourcing renewable energy, increasing the use of post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials, lightweight bottles, and collaborating with suppliers to reduce GHG emissions. Graham is also exploring innovations like ceramic oven reflectors in its heating systems, which can reduce oven power consumption by 10-20%, and automated compressed air controller solutions.
• March 2023 - Apex Plastics has expanded its product range to encompass not only Trek’s standard Vodabottles in 21 and 26 oz but also their premium VodaFlo bottles in 21 oz and 26 oz, as well as a 15 oz bottle. This broadening of product range enables the company to meet the needs of Trek’s water bottles and, potentially, those of other clients.

• April 2023: Egypt and India laid the foundation stone for a USD 110 million PET production factory in Ain Sokhna, Suez governorate. A monthly output capacity of 30,000 tonnes is anticipated for the project. Construction is expected to be completed in two stages, the first of which will begin in the first half of 2024 and the second in the middle of 2025.
• November 2022: Tempo Paper Pulp & Packaging Ltd's second BOPP film line was established in Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, representing a significant investment in the African plastic packaging market. This investment is in response to the increasing demand for high-quality packaging film on the African continent, particularly in Nigeria. Tempo Paper Pulp & Packaging Ltd made a significant commitment to satisfy Africa's growing packaging needs by establishing a new BOPP film line with a width of 8.7 meters and an annual production capacity of 42,000 tons. BOPP films are widely utilized in various applications, such as flexible packaging, labeling, and laminating, making them an indispensable component of the packaging industry.

• March 2023: Brady Corporation launched a new RFID label. The Matt White Polypropylene RFID Label is specially designed for use in extreme temperatures and chemical environments, making it the suitable solution for tracing lab samples and equipment. This will help leverage the benefits of streamlined tracking and inventory management in laboratories.
• January 2023: Avery Dennison announced a major investment to expand its manufacturing capacity in the Americas by constructing a new manufacturing facility in Queretaro, Mexico. The investment supports its goal of being the world's largest RFID provider by giving each item a unique digital ID. Technologies developed at the new facility will create a more connected and transparent supply chain, improving efficiency across multiple industries. Avery Dennison expects to invest more than USD 100 million.

• May 2022: Mondi partnered with beck packautomaten to launch a strong, flexible paper-based packaging solution dedicated to the eCommerce industry. The solution uses 95% paper and is recyclable across all European paper waste streams. FunctionalBarrier Paper can replace unnecessary plastic packaging, enabling shipments to arrive safely in sustainable and right-sized packaging.
• May 2022: Smurfit Kappa United Kingdom Limited, an integrated manufacturer of paper-based packaging products, announced the acquisition of Atlas Packaging. Based in Barnstaple, North Devon, Atlas Packaging is an independent corrugated packaging provider. The firm is well invested with a strong market presence in the United Kingdom, allowing it to meet the requirements and provide value to its wide customer base. With a particularly powerful presence in shelf-ready packaging, gift boxing, and the e-commerce sector, they offer an exciting and wide range of innovative products.

• April 2023: Stora Enso's Trayforma BarrPeel is an innovative, easy-peeling board material for vacuum skin packs that allows for the packing of fresh food on recycled paperboard trays. Trayforma BarrPeel helps brand owners achieve their sustainability goals by removing plastic from less than 10% of the tray.
• August 2022: A Swedish roaster, Arvid Nordquist, partnered with packaging business Syntegon to use vacuum coffee packaging technology to reduce CO2 emissions and fossil-based film utilization.

• September 2022: Amcor announced a further strategic investment of up to USD 45 million in ePac Flexible Packaging (“ePac”). The acquisition will expand Amcor's minority stake in ePac Holdings LLC, and it represents our trust in ePac's entrepreneurial team and their ability to scale in the high growth swiftly, typically higher value short-run market.

• June 2023: Appvion introduces its new, sustainable, patent-pending Next Generation technology direct thermal coating that is free of phenolic developers, including BPA, BPS, and other phenols. Next Generational Technology coating creates heat-stable, legible, dark images on paper and film labels, tickets, tags, and point-of-sale applications while complying with environmental regulations and corporate sustainability initiatives.
• March 2023: Twin Rivers announced that it finalized the sale of Plaster Rock Lumber Corporation, its softwood lumber mill in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, to eastern Canadian lumber manufacturer and North American forest products leader Groupe Lebel. The sale advances Twin Rivers’ strategy of investing in and growing its core business of specialty and kraft paper production.

• February 2023: TotalEnergies and Ecolab collaborated to develop heavy-duty plastic packaging made from recycled materials. This launch resulted from close cooperation to supply TotalEnergies RE: use rPE6314 grade - within the RE:clic portfolio of circular polymers in the MAXX S range for Facility care. This launch marks the introduction of post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic into primary packaging for highly concentrated cleaning products.
